Microblading FAQ

Common Microblading Questions

What are the different techniques available?

There are several techniques available and we’ll decide the day of the appointment what’s best for you. Microblading is slightly more invasive, so it’s not suitable for all skin types. Machine shading is non-invasive so anyone is a candidate for it. Hair strokes can also be done with the machine for more sensitive skin types. Please check out our Instagram page for current examples of each.

What is microblading?

Microblading is an advanced form of semi-permanent makeup that mimics the look of natural hair strokes. The treatment is performed using a handheld tool that uses fine needles to deposit pigment under the skin, creating crisp strokes that match the look of natural eyebrow hair.

Does it look natural?

Yes! You can have natural looking brows 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Denise is a microblading expert and does every stroke by hand to ensure that it looks natural.

Does it hurt?

Topical anesthetics are applied before and during the procedure for comfort. Some people are more sensitive than others, but most don’t find it too uncomfortable, and others have no discomfort at all.

How much does it cost?

Current prices are listed on the homepage. Currently it is $500 for initial treatment, and $100-$250 for touch-ups depending on the time after your initial microblading treatment.

How long does it last?

It varies from person to person. The color can last from 1-3 years, but it will fade over time due to exposure to the sun and other elements. Returning for a touch up every 12-18 months is common to keep it looking fresh.

How do I prepare for my appointment?
  • If your skin is extra sensitive, you can take an over the counter pain aid one hour before your appointment. Do not take aspirin or other blood thinners as that can promote bleeding.
  • Do not consume alcohol 24 hours before appointment
  • Do not consumer caffeine the day of the appointment
  • Avoid sunburns before appointment
How long does the appointment take?

On average, a microblading appointment lasts about 1.5-2 hours from start to finish.

What’s the appointment like?

There are four steps to the appointment:

1. Discussion – Discuss the overall vision for your eyebrows and analyze your bone structure and facial features. Take “before” photo.

2. Create Template – Measure and draw eyebrow template. Together we’ll review and modify the design until we create the perfect shape you love. Next, a topical anesthetic is used to minimize discomfort.

3. Application of pigment – done by machine or microblade tool, the application of pigment is done over the drawn design to ensure we keep the same shape as the drawing.

4. Review and follow up – Take photos and discuss the appropriate aftercare. Schedule your follow-up appointment which will be at least 6-8 weeks out. A touch-up is necessary to perfect the brows for your final “wow“ result!

Why do I need a touch up?

Your face is a special body part with constant exposure to elements such as the sun and other outside elements, facial products and other cosmetic procedures. Over time, this causes the microblading pigment to fade.

What can I do to help maintain the treatment?

Your microblading treatment will last longer if you apply sun block daily and avoid heavily abrasive facial treatments. Inform your skin professional that you have permanent makeup so they can avoid products in that area.
